Wiregrass Georgia Technical College

Georgia Military College
The academic mission of Georgia Military College involves the development of the intellect and the elevation of character. The learning based curriculum of the college is, therefore, a blend of expected student learning objectives of intellectual development in each course and in ethical development. This unique blend has characterized this institution almost since its founding in 1879 under a charter granted by the Georgia state legislature.

Work-Based Learning/ CTAE Program
Career Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) contains many structured age appropriate experiences which prepare students to be college and career ready. Work-Based Learning is a culminating experience for students taking courses in their chosen career pathway. Students may enroll in a Work-Based Learning course once they reach the age of 16 where they will receive credit while working in an environment related to their career pathway.
Both Lowndes County Schools and Valdosta City Schools offer Work-Based Learning/CTAE Programs. The Work-Based-Learning coordinator/CTAE director for each school may conduct many supporting activities to prepare students for the Work-Based Learning experience. These can include, mock interviews, job shadowing, student portfolios, career fairs, interest and aptitude surveys, career awareness and career exploration, guest speakers, and field trips.
